Dear Pa,

It makes me very sad to hear of the action Mom has decided to take, but it does not come as a complete surprise. I had hoped it were possible for this not to happen, for you are my parents and I love you both. Therefore I cannot take sides, nor can I say that I approve, for the decisions are yours to make. But I am very thankful to you, Pa, that you have prevented this from happening sooner, thankful for Lennie's sake, for my sake, and for my own childrens' sake.

Now, it seems to me, what counts the most is how you and Mom can be the happiest, and whichever course that be be, is for you alone to decide. May God be with you both.

Love, Your Son,
Roland
