Seeing a 1950's Nabisco Shredded Wheat cereal Box from the perspective of American life in the first decade of the 21st century, one is amazed at its small size. Many American breakfast cereal boxes have become so huge that they can be placed upright only in special cupboards or walk-in pantries. A Nabisco cereal box from 1952 was only 19 centimeters by 14.8 centimeters by 9.9 centimeters (7.5 x 5.8 x 3.9 inches). The image above is actual size on 94 ppi monitors.
The top of the box declared, "ATTENTION! This package becomes your TV set. Open bottom of package for easy instructions." Printed on the backside of this box there was a simulated TV screen that could be cut out to form a puppet theater. The back as well as the sides are shown below.
