Evidently Nabisco received some complaints about the 19th card in Book 1, which was called "Poisonous Snake Recognition". The card states that "only experienced people over 18 should attempt to kill these snakes at close range." But it's likely that some mothers didn't like their sons reading about such things or else were afraid that the cards might prompt their sons to go out looking for such venomous serpents. In any case, the inclusion of card 19 in boxes of Nabisco Shredded Wheat was stopped during the summer of 1950 and replaced by a card entitled, "Replacement for discontinued card 19". This replacement card was an announcement for the next series of Injun/uity cards, Book II. Both the original card 19 and its replacement are shown above.
